Sponsored by the American Foundation for Surgery of the Hand

Annually, a recipient for the Harold E. Kleinert Traveling Fellowship will be selected to receive a scholarship. This fellowship consists of providing a worthy, young, non-North American hand surgeon the opportunity to receive advanced knowledge by traveling to the US to visit hand surgery center(s). This allows the chosen doctor to return to their country to better treat their patients. This year’s scholarship recipient was announced by Mrs. Kleinert at the 73rd Annual American Society for the Hand Association Conference.

We want to congratulate Dr. Kenji Kawamura, MD, PhD, from Japan for receiving the award this year. Dr. Kawamura also had the opportunity to speak at our morning conference on the topic of “Replantation of the Amputated Arm.”
